Important DatesDecember 1, 2008 Deadline for nominations for Chirality Medal 2009 ::Congratulations to Professor Ben Feringa, winner of the 2009 Chirality Medal! March 1, 2009 Abstract deadline for lecture and poster abstracts April 1, 2009 Deadline for late-breaking abstracts April 2009 Preliminary Program posted at www.chirality2009.org June 1, 2009 Final deadline to submit poster abstracts Poster abstracts received after June 1 may be presented at the meeting but will not be published in the Final Program. Please email janetbarr@aol.com to request a poster board at the meeting. Preliminary ProgramThe Preliminary Scientific Program has been posted. CLICK HERE for Chirality 2009 Program Call for PapersSubmissions of abstracts requesting oral and poster presentations covering all aspects of chirality are welcome from scientists, engineers, researchers, and practitioners world-wide. The broad spectrum of presentations will create an interdisciplinary forum highlighting the following scientific themes: chiral peptides and polynucleotides; enantioselective synthesis; chiroptical and NMR spectroscopy; materials chirality; preparative resolution; frontiers of chiral analysis; nonbiological enantioenrichment and the origins of life; biological chirality and pharmacology; and stereochemical terminology. Researchers with new results in areas relevant to the meeting topics are encouraged to submit abstracts for consideration for lecture and/or poster presentation. We are striving to ensure the broadest possible coverage of recent advances. In order for the scientific committee to develop appropriate oral and poster sessions for the program, we strongly encourage you to submit your abstract by March 1. The deadlines to submit abstracts are posted above under "Important Dates." If you intend to submit a contribution for the oral program but company approval is required prior to submitting, please contact us at janetbarr@aol.com by March 1 and give the name of the meeting, abstract title, authors, brief description of the kind of material that you would like to present, and when approval is expected. This material will be kept confidential. Please submit abstracts electronically to janetbarr@aol.com. It should be noted that all papers are accepted based on the understanding that one or more of the authors will personally attend the conference and present their work. A broad spectrum of lecture and poster presentations will create an interdisciplinary forum for discussion of molecular and supramolecular chirality-related scientific issues in the following areas.
Submit AbstractsAbstract length is approximately 300 words (no graphics). If sending as an attached file, send in Microsoft Word, RTF or text format (.doc, .rtf, or .txt) and also cut-and-paste the abstract into the e-mail. Indicate the name of the meeting (Chirality 2009), lecture or poster preference, list of authors/coauthors with physical and email addresses, and underline the presenting author. Please be sure to provide contact details for the presenting author should we have any questions. Please submit abstracts electronically to janetbarr@aol.com. Current list of confirmed speakers—Check back often!
ProceedingsEach presenter is encouraged to submit a manuscript based on the lecture or poster presentation for inclusion in the proceedings of Chirality 2009. The Symposium proceedings will be published in a special issue of the journal, Chirality.
